Experience in Higher Education
Choosing a college and completing the application process can be a challenge for students and their families. The founder of The Admissions Wayfinder spent nearly a decade working in high schools and colleges. She uses this knowledge to help students reach their academic goals with a holistic approach that helps reduce the stress this process can create.
Anna Zirkel earned her B.S. in Secondary Education from Indiana University and her Master's degree in School Counseling from Hunter College in New York City. Her broad experience ranges from working as a high school counselor at Williamsburg Prep in Brooklyn, NY to roles in academic advising at New York University and The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She spent the last two years working in the Undergraduate Admissions Office at UNC for the College of Arts and Science.
She’s worked on both sides of the scholarship process, helping students apply and serving on merit-based scholarship and grant committees. While at NYU she was a founding contributor to the Social Impact Grant that gives students an opportunity to make the world a better place. Today, she serves as a contributing editor for College Consensus and coaches students through the college application, financial aid, and decision-making process as The Admissions Wayfinder.
If you are looking for someone who can guide you through the many decisions in the college application process with an honest, ethical, and kind demeanor then you have come to the right place.
